I do wonder what the Ultrasmurfs would be most useful for. The Guard will roll across most armies in the world, especially given TBO-USA hasn't upgunned it's conventional force, in favour of nuclear superiority. I assume they would do what they do best, carry out surgical strikes on HQ's and politc...

Rick Berman has stated in interviews that at no time was the identity of "Future Guy" ever developed, nor a backstory created for the character. The series never revealed the identity of the Suliban benefactor. From the wiki page linked to, this says it all, really. He has no history, nam...

A man who sounded very much like Sharpe's son was involved in the American Civil War in the Starbuck books (IIRC he was a French observer). Perhaps you could use him instead with just a small role for Sharpe himself? I can't imagine Sharpe being up for much in Flashy's time.

It could be that Earth wasn't abandoned at all. The story of why the settlers left Earth could be propaganda by wacky environmentalists who may have been the people who orginally left Earth. If they can terraform moons that cannot naturally hold an atmosphere (and build ecosystems from scratch) it w...

Another thing is that battlecruisers weren't necessarily smaller than battleships and also many cruisers have been longer than battleships. It's the purpose that defines the type of warship, not the size.

In 'Relics' Scotty mentions having served on many ships, he said something along the lines of "freighters, cruisers and starships". The Klingons classed the Enterprise as a battlecruiser so there are probably ships of a comparable size that are either slower or maybe less powerful.

A couple of WW1 era water cooled machine guns and a lot of ammo should do it.

Wait until Stargate finishes and get the Stargate writers and Joss Whedon to do it, then we might get something that is good enough. I don't think JMS is suited to writing a new TOS, something closer to SG-1 and Firefly (in terms of wirting not story)would be the best.

Who was it who suggested that the ambulance was curing everyone of not being gas-mask kid? Give the man a prize.

And, for that matter, one will note that next episode features something new... Continuity!

Isn't it a bit obvious what's happening though? The hospital ship scanned the first person it came across and assumed that he was healthy and is now curing everyone of not having a gasmask stuck to their face.

Urm-there's a dozen Connies . During a lot if not most of TNG, there were 6 Galaxys. That's not really a valid determinator for judging fleet size. The connies were conceived as the only heavy starship. Hell, for a long time they were called "starship class" you know. I don't know about t...

Off topic bit: I have mixed feelings on Rodenberry. He produced the best of Trek IMO, when constrained somewhat by other people. Its funny because I feel that Gl and Rioddenberry share this character flaw. They have created some brilliant sci fi but left to their own devices they have put out some ...

In the final analysis this was a very good show, Not the second coming as some have touted it to be, for instance I think Neo BSG Season 1 as better as well as Andromeda Season 1 but it would have been great to see this show be allowed to evolve and grow. Well, I think that's the thing about this s...

Too little, way too late. Why didn't they hire good writers and write good episodes right off the bat, instead of waiting three seasons to do their job? Well, maybe you should have spoken up back in 2001, when it still had an audience. All you look like now is what I said before, a bunch of uncriti...

But look at the shows you've quoted. VOY and DS9 were darn shallow in their first 14 episodes... and well. Some would argue stayed that way. TNG's first season was mostly atrocious. Now say, do you care more about those Firefly characters than say.. the first season casts of SG-1? NeoBSG? B5? It to...

Firefly isn't over yet, a movie is being released this year (they have finished filming and are in post-production). If the movie does well Universal has the option to make 2 more although the chances of a series is almost nil because of the deal they have with Fox. After 14 episodes I care more abo...

The Wraith may be more advanced than their standard fighters and weapons indicate as they have no external enemies and do not fight amongst themselves (I may have missed a few episodes so I might be wrong). Why build expensive fighters when none of your enemies even have biplanes?

If you want a SW RTS buy Homeworld 2 and install the Warlord total conversion as others have mentioned. Although it only works with skirmish and multiplayer it is superb, far better than anything out of Lucasarts.

I too think that the dialogue and such on B5 could be poor but JMS wouldn't have to write the new series. He could instead be the executive producer and have others write. If a new series is made I'd like to see them use the talents of a range of sci-fi literature writers which might help keep a new...
